Our party begins Episode 2 arrayed around a decrepit diner, surrounded by the corpses of rad roaches and ghouls. Morg is busy butchering the rad roaches, collecting meat in his backpack. As they loot the ghouls, they notice something peculiar: one ghoul is different from the rest. Its skin is darker, its movement are slower and more calculated, and its teeth are sharper. The party takes samples for further investigation, suspecting that this ghoul might hold some clues about recent changes in the wasteland.

The General Store’s Hidden Treasures:

Next, the team heads to the general store. Despite the store being mostly looted, they managed to find some valuable items. Morg scouts ahead to the doctor’s office, discovering more ghouls lurking inside. After a strategic fight involving careful planning and the use of action points, the team clears the area and patches up Morg, who took some significant damage during the encounter. Their spoils include chems, medical supplies, and a much-needed fusion core.

An Explosive Encounter at the School:

Their final destination is the school, a large building with multiple entrances. Inside, they find a series of ransacked classrooms and a library with a few intact books and magazines. As they explore deeper, they discover signs of recent activity—rad roach bodies that have been carefully butchered for their meat.

Morg calls out and hears a response from deep within the building. They soon encounter another super mutant who claims the area as his territory. Morg engages in a tense negotiation, offering items in exchange for the fusion core. The super mutant seems interested in their offer but is skeptical.

A Dangerous Deal:

The party concocts a risky plan involving a rigged plasma grenade disguised as a valuable item. They manage to convince the super mutants to take the grenade, promising it will act as a ‘mini fusion core.’ The plan backfires slightly as the grenade explodes, causing significant damage but not entirely eliminating the threat.

A fierce battle ensues. Joe, always ready with his revolver, takes the lead, followed by precise shots from Tarkus. The fight is brutal but short, ending with the super mutants defeated and the team emerging victorious.

In the aftermath, the team retrieves the fusion core and valuable books from the school. These include:

True Police Stories: Allows turning up to three effect faces up on damage rolls.
